Our information system is broken
The information system underneath our elections, economy, and social fabric has collapsed.

AverPoint promotes healthy news habits and critical thinking skills.
ReadersPageMeasureReading
Measured reading
When you scroll through social media today, algorithms and advertisers are measuring you. The experience is often optimized for likes, shares, and outrage - not learning what you want to learn. It leads many of us down rabbit holes, and has polarized society.

We put you back in charge. First, you measure yourself. AverPoint helps you measure what you read on your computer, phone, smart TV, and more. We then summarize your reading across topics, sources, geographies, and more. This helps you become more conscious of your news diet - reading what you actually want.

Healthy reading habits
Habits are powerful: easy to do, and hard to break. Products have built habits we don't want: compulsively scroll the newsfeed, send status updates, and check for likes.

We help you build healthy habits like reading multiple perspectives, topics, and geographies. Or remembering to read good local news. As you read more about something, we help you go up the learning curve not down the rabbit hole. Like Fitbit or DuoLingo, we nudge you to build healthy information habits into your life.

Critical thinking
Many news experiences trigger our primal brain with drama and outrage. We often "Like" and "Share" out of mob instinct. It's not the engagement that forms an informed society.

We want to inspire more thoughtful interactions.
  • We’ll help you evaluate source quality and source evidence.
  • You can question the claims in videos, articles, and text.
  • You can request expert reviews.

Rewards for informed citizens
We partner with leading organizations committed to an informed society. They offer rewards to their employees, customers, and audiences when they build healthy news habits on AverPoint.

Not every company has a position on every issue. But every company should promote an informed society.

Expert recommendations
Today’s world is complicated: artificial intelligence, geopolitical rivalries, information warfare, supply chains, mRNA vaccines. We work with experts on these topics to recommend articles that help you go up the learning curve.

Source quality
What counts as a good source? This is a big question, but some pragmatic rules can get us far. A source should put articles and claims through a transparent editorial standard, and fact-checking process. When they are wrong, they issue prominent retractions. We hope they'll adopt our software to make their articles open to our informed community's questions and reviews.

For now, we approve 1,800 American and 70 international sources we believe meet this standard using source review organizations. Over time, we hope to find partners or build our own living credential of source quality.
AverPoint mobilizes an informed community to solve problems.

Informed discussions
As you make an honest effort to stay informed, we connect you to other informed citizens. We host discussions over Clubhouse, Zoom, and real-life meet ups on deep-dive topics with experts. Most discussions are grounded in pre-readings to establish some common ground for debate.

Community reviews
As you progress through AverPoint, you also unlock the ability to question and review claims on leading news sites. We are trying to design these so audiences can give constructive feedback to creators and the community.
